Hours: Full time office and laboratory based
Salary: £18,000 - £25,000 Dependent on Experience
As a Laboratory Automation Technician at Oxford Genetics you will carry out a range of processes to provide support for a large number of automation platforms for diverse applications, including molecular biology (DNA extraction, PCR, colony-picking), cell culture (imaging, hit-picking) and analytics (qPCR, ELISA), with a view to increasing departmental efficiency.
This will involve working closely within a small dedicated team, and with other laboratory-based colleagues to assure all automated laboratory tasks are run to a high standard and meet any quality standards in place. An ability to follow key processes at high throughput is essential, as well as confidence in teaching and supervising others.
This is an entry-level position and, as such, no prior experience working with liquid-handling robots is expected. Full training on our automation platforms will be provided, however experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
